Warning - Spelling is not my forte'

Ok, I know I am not the greatest speller in the world and sometimes my grammar sucks. Please forgive me. If you do see an error please let me know and I will fix it. To be honest...I use this spell checker every time, but it doesn't catch everything and sometimes....my brain thinks faster than my fingers can type!

Thanks Debbie for letting me know of my mistake....I fixed it...I think!

Mountaineers in Sweet 16

Congatulations to the WVU Mountaineers!!! Let's Go Mountaineers!! This was an exciting game the other night. We haven't been in the Tournament since 1998....this is great! WVU beat Wake Forest in double, yes I said double, overtime!! This game definately kept you on the edge of your seat and ended with a WVU win 111-105. As said by a writer in the Gazette "this game will be remembered in Mountaineer lore as one of the greatest ever. For that matter, given just the basic circumstances — a No. 7 seed upsetting a No. 2, coming from 14 points down and doing it in two overtimes — the game figures to find a place in NCAA tournament lore, as well."
Texas Tech, here we come!

Sorry

For some reason the pictures wouldn't upload last night after I wrote my little blurb. I will try again tonight....I would really like for you to see what I am living with!!

Last night we took our showers at my in-laws house and then wet our hair in the sink this morning. My hair always goes nuts if I sleep on it wet like I did last night. I looked like the Bride of Frankenstein!

Things never go as planned

Well, we started the bathroom update and of course things didn't go as planned. Something that we thought would take a day or two looks like it will take 3-4 or more days now. When they got started the found that the wall around the tub was basically falling in so that's when it started. The wall was taken out (as you can see in the photos) and they are in the process of putting up the drywall (as in the photos). I guess I really should have expected this...I mean things are never as simple as they seem to be. We now don't have a shower...like I mentioned in my earlier post, this is a 1 bathroom house. Looks like we are going to be taking showers at our parent's house for the next couple of days.
This sucks, but it will all work out in the end.

The Stepsister Speaks Outs

This is my favorite monologue. I just had to share it with everyone.

"The Stepsister Speaks Out".

Author and Source Unknown.
Approx. 1 min., 50 sec.

Cinderella's stepsister gives an different viewpoint on that famous story.

It isn't easy being the ugly stepsister. Everybody always feels so sorry for poor little Cinderella, but what about me? I deserve a little sympathy, too. Does MY fairy godmother ever turn up with a magic wand? Does the prince ever dance with me at the ball? Not on your life. The best I can ever hope for with my pumpkins is a decent piece of pie. And as for the rats, well, rats are rats, with their sneaky eyes and skinny tails, nibbling and gnawing at the garbage. I haven't seen one yet who turned into a coachman.

If you ask me, that Cinderella is weird. Certainly, she isn't normal. Besides the fact that she has naturally curly hair and wears size 4 1/2 shoes, she is so good-natured that it's downright sickening. If you had to dust and sweep and clean all day long, would you go around singing to the birds? Of course you wouldn't, no sensible person would.

Some people think I'm jealous of her. Maybe I am, but with good reason. I subsisted on seven hundred calories a day for three whole weeks before the ball. I got a perm and a facial and a manicure. I even bought a new gown, blue velvet, designer label. I mean, I was READY. "PRINCEY," I thought to myself, "HERE I COME!"
And what happens? Little Cindy, who has never seen the inside of a health club before in her life and who doesn't know the caloric difference between a carrot stick and a chocolate eclair, whips together a dress out of some old curtains from K-Mart, waltzes off to the ball and snags the prince.

It isn't fair! It really isn't fair!

This is the flooring that is currently in the bathroom. My husband is hoping to take this out or cover it up because he hates it!  Posted by Hello

The bathroom we plan to remodel. This is the before. You can't see it very well, but the soap dish is that 60's ugly green and the tiles are a light pink. There are swans on the tiles next to the sink. We have already painted the walls a pretty light blue. We did that about a year ago.  Posted by Hello

What am I getting myself into?

Well, it looks like our bathroom is going to get remodeled next weekend. Did I mention we have a 1 bathroom house. This is going to be fun! I just hope things go as planned (like that will happen!) so we are not without a bathroom for longer than the weekend. Travis and his Dad, our handy man, will start work next Friday evening I think. We (when I saw we I really mean Travis & Howard....not quite sure what I will do, probably just get in the way!) are going to put in a tub surround to cover up this very old tile (it is way too expensive for us to re-tile this whole bathroom!), replace the faucets in the shower, maybe replace the floor & toilet. Everything still works, it is just really old and we are going to be putting the house on the market in the spring. Got to make it look pretty for someone else!
Travis & I are heading out the Lowes to purchase the tub surround and the faucets. The part I really hate is having to part with a lot of money. I didn't realize how expensive this project is going to be. I keep thinking that I am going to have to spend even more money in a couple of weeks because we are painting the outside of the house too.....what am I getting myself into??
It should all work out in the end...hopefully!!

Emmalee (my niece) Posted by Hello

A good morning, sort of

Well, today is my hubby's birthday and he turns 27. Unfortunately he is sick, what a bummer to be sick on your birthday. He stayed home today...took some theraflu and went back to bed. I guess this means we won't be going out to dinner tonight. Oh well, maybe I will fix him some soup instead.
I had a great time last night at my Mom & Dad's house. We got together and celebrated my Dad's birthday (which was March 4th), My Birthday (which was March 7th) & Travis' birthday (which is today of course). It is always great to get together with family and enjoy a home cooked meal and wonderful homemade desserts. THANK YOU MOM!! My Mom slaved all day and made each birthday girl or boy their own dessert. I got a "Better than sex cake" which we call a "Paul Newman" cake around little ears and Travis got a German Chocolate Cake...his favorite. My Dad wanted to be a little different so he got a Lemon Meringue Pie & a Coconut Cream Pie. I took my digital camera with me last night, but got distracted by my niece & nephews that I forgot to take pictures. I believe my sister did so I will add a little later.
I will write more later. Have a great day!
